In 2011, I wrote a book A Preface & Epilogue to the History of the World that was a mystical and metaphysical prose-poem. I illustrated the book with pen and ink, then printed it out and bound it in with thread. I made a number of books like this, beginning with The Alchemists’ Dream Is Now Achieved.. I saw myself as something like William Blake. It was a way for me to process my education at St. John’s College, which is classical liberal arts through the great books tradition. It was intense to read so many books so fast. I turned to art to ground myself.
The books came to me like electricity. Quite literally. I started with An Illustrated Guide to Practical Dreaming, which arose from OBE and sleep paralysis experiences I induced through WILD lucid dreaming rituals. I then wrote The Mysteries of Babylon after a telepathic encounter with a cuttle-fish that seems like an Oz Factor event, which I have speculated on, but not yet investigated. The book stands as a strange evidence for the impact of this psychic event, which I now understand in other ways.
The Alchemists’ Dream Is Now Achieved. established my characteristic style that I’m reconnecting with. It is a simple ink on paper style that abstracts the human face, which I thought was to accommodate my limited drawing skills. But now, I see they are Grey-like entities. These books came to me in a flash. Through my chakras. They were physical events that I experienced confusion with. For example, riding my bike, I thought something happened with my helmet. I felt an electric feeling in my crown, that raised all my hairs, and flowed like a fluid into my body.
The only think that seems similar is Kundalini, but that is from the other direction up. When this first started to happen, I was beginning to meditate and was taking BART (the Bay Area Rapid Transit). I leaned my head on the train window under San Francisco, I felt a sort of electric liquid vibration at my crown. It tested to see if my head was wet, while it seemed improbable, my first impression was that electrified water was dripping through the train ceiling onto my head. The feeling flowed down into my third eye, then I recognize it as a spiritual or energetic sensation. My books document experiences like this in lucid dream or OBE states, but this was felt out and about in my daily life.
I had several downloads like this, producing most of my art books in this way. I’d get the feeling, write the text, illustrate it, then put it together. I did this several times until I got a download for a massive database of dreams, which became the NORD project. The download included a vision for website that collected and analyzed many dreams, visualizing them in a share 2d or 3d space to reveal patterns that I intuited included precognition, shared dreaming, and ET/NHI contact.
I have pursued that vision through my academic and professional life. I’ve learned web software engineering, data visualization, and academic writing in order to achieve this vision. In turning toward my new direction, I am moving back into the practice of writing and illustrating.
The thing I want to document and communicate is the feeling that these texts and images came from somewhere else. I am tuning into that thing as if no time has passed, but it is almost a decade and a half since writing these little Art Books.
