A Red Grid Mark Phenomenon (RGMP) experiencer watched the US Congressional hearing on UAPs, went to sleep, then awoke to find this mark on his back. He reached out to me to provide context and look into the geometry of the mark. This post documents my initial observations of the mark. I am about half-way to conclusions, will need to conduct more research, then attempt a construction based on my hypotheses that I’m documenting here.
Here is his story from Reddit:
Didn’t sleep on anything other than a soft blanket.
Didn’t sit on any weird chairs yesterday. Didn’t hit my back or fall.
Doesn’t itch, doesn’t hurt.
Watched the UP Congress video last night before bed, had strange, vivid dreams where I felt, for the first time, strange physical sensations (namely being cold, which had never happened to me in a dream before), and noticed this on my back before getting in the shower this morning.
The only other instances with photos of similar symmetrical diamond bruises on peoples skin has to do with other people who claim “vivid dreams of abduction” the night before, then waking up with similar markings.
The weird thing is that I sleep with my 3 year old son cuddled up next to me every night, and if I get up, he usually wakes up and goes to the other room to lay down with his mom, so I don’t know what happened.
I’m freaked out. I’m 100% new to all this alien, UAP stuff, and have been looking more into it over the last 3 weeks or so leading up to this hearing.
Then this happens the very same night I watch the entire hearing? Then have strange vivid dreams? Then wake up with this eerily symmetrical pin prick bruising on my back??
What’s going on???

I work with the RGMP using the hypothesis that the marking may be geometric communication from either covert humans or non-human intelligences such as ETs or dream characters. This hypothesis is agnostic regarding the mechanism, for instance, it does not matter if the mark was made by an interdimensional radiation machine that works like a darkroom projector or else if the mark was made by the same mechanism as stigmata. Likewise, the hypothesis is agnostic regarding who made the mark, although I look for signs and characteristics of intelligence like the presence of beautiful geometry.
My initial impressions of this mark was that it is an important mark due to its clarity, the synchronicity with the US hearing on UAPs, the strange dream, and the intuition of meaning the experiencer expressed. The mark appears almost like a stereotypical RGMP, exhibiting a hexagonal grid pattern of clearly defined dots. While the dots vary in darkness, the formation has clearly defined edges that are composed of incomplete rows or else very faint rows, the faintness of which seem disproportionate with the variation of dot darkness within the formation.
My first major observation is that the grid is not perfect. When I drew lines through all the dots, I observed that one set of lines converged at a point rather than being roughly parallel like all the other lines. I imagine that the convergence point is the center of a circle and that the converging lines are radii of that circle, such that the formation sits some meaningful proportion from the center.

The formation at the circumference then may be described as a diamond, which may be constructed using a hexagonal grid pattern. The diamond width is about 1/3rd that of the diameter. Interestingly, when I extend the diamond edges to cut the radii that cut the diamond’s top and bottom vertexes, they cut the line from the center to the vertex in the golden ratio.
The diamond itself seems to be composed 6 dots on one side and 4 on the other, although there are additional incomplete lines bordering the formation on two sides. While I did discern the golden ratio and other proportions in some of the lines, the relationships did not seem obvious to me and varied based on photograph due to perspectives. I am unclear if the formation may be seen as a complete diamond with incomplete borders on the outside or if the incomplete borders could be completed to build the diamond.
My next major observation is that the formation is composed of an elongated hexagonal grid. Typically, a hexagonal grid may be constructed using the flower of life pattern, such that the intervals between the dots are determined by the radius of a single circle, with each dot at the center of its own circle. However, I was unable to draw such a pattern. There are several confounding factors including relative perspective due to camera angle on the skin and the contours of the skin itself. Usually, I draw the same construction on multiple photos, then I draw it on a blank sheet of paper starting with a single magnitude taken from the photos. If I can place the construction on the photo and the marks are congruent, then I feel confident to make conclusions.

However, I was unable to apply a flower of life construction to the mark in any of the photos. When I used two circles to describe the grid, I found much more coherence. Starting with the center of the formation, I was able to draw a circle that touched four other dots in an “x” and then another circle that touched the dots to the left and right of the center. The difference of circles is about 1/5th or 1/6th of the longer diameter. Interestingly, the difference between the circles may be expressed in terms of the golden ratio. I drew a construction to elucidate these relationships.

In this initial analysis, I did not measure the size of the dots. To my eyes now, they appear slightly elongated, suggesting that they are proportionate to both grids. Although the effect appears most obvious in the center of the formation and would need to be tested throughout the formation.
The last major observation I have is that the diamond formation implies a number sequence. When I draw lines through the dots parallel to the horizon (left to right on his back) and I count the number of dots per row, I get “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4, 3”.

While the mark appears very simple, I believe that it may be a complex design. While there are clear deviations from perfect Euclidean geometry in every mark due to camera angles and body contours, this mark may imply a much larger geometric construction based upon a circle at the convergence point of the lines. If such sophistication were proven to be expressed in this mark, it may represent proof of the intelligent and intentional design of the mark. There are many precedents for hexagonal grids in industrially produced objects, but it would be remarkably uncommon for a bench or backpack to have a grid that was subtly designed in such a way. Experiments could be devised using a plaster cast or 3D model of the experiencer’s back to apply variously designed templates to prove if the perturbed hexagonal grid was caused by camera angles and contours or else is an intentional design element.
Such an experiment assumes that we can devise a geometric construction for this mark. I need to ponder over these observations and then will attempt a construction based upon the larger circle and/or combination of grids.
