Preface and Epilogue to the History of the World

Dear Reader,
Thank you for contemplating what goes before and after history. The concept of time and history is abstract, but necessary to consider in this day and age. We often like to think of ourselves as the central hero, nation, or planet of the most important story ever told.
It might be uncomfortable to contemplate the vast stretches of time. This one human life is a single point on an infinite line of infinite points. The entire duration of our known history is like a blink of an angel’s eye. You have to get a little existential before your contemplate time.
This book invites you to consider what went before and after the story of your life and human history. The journey is worth it. When you finally reach the end of time, you’ll discover that you are eternal. There must be something that endures within the vast flow of time. Some people call it God, universe, source. That’s ultimately you.
Thank you for contemplating the eternity of your awareness, it’s really needed nowadays. Being the hero of history requires you to be on a hero’s journey where you quest and battle and have all sorts of drama. When you contemplate eternity, you discover that you are all things in time, so that you can drop any need to defend your status as the hero. You can just be you.
You can be at peace in an eternal and enduring way. Imagine if everyone found peace. We wouldn’t have to fight or toil. It would be heaven on Earth.
